Verizon Voicewing Review

The famous wireless phone and dsl provider digs into the VoIP market.

Verizon Review

Verizon has successfully merged into two markets, so their track record is pretty good. They have had generally happy customers with both services. However, VoIP is a new market and a completely different ball game.

Verizon has reasonable offerings. But just that. It seems like the only reason anyone would stick their neck out for the product is if they are loyal to the Verizon brand name to death. Everything Verizon has done only shown us that they intend to offer nothing new, and let their brand name sell itself.

That said, most Verizon Voicewing customers say it has great customer service, which actually exceeded their expectations and will definitely be reliable and cordial. That means a lot in a market filled with a bunch of imitators, one could take comfort in Verizon and the luxuries of having a brand that has to meet up to it’s expectations.

One other interesting stipulation is that in the ToS 5,000 minutes a month is considered business usage and not allowed under their “unlimited” plan, but upon calling customer service they worked out the problem without conflict. So I guess you could say the customer service is the main thing Verizon Voicewing has going for it. Actually, as far the plan goes there are other advantages. There is a 30 day guarantee, which they will refund the rest of your contract’s term to you, and if you use less than 250 minutes during that first month, they will even reimburse the $25 for that first month. Need I remind you, most companies do NOT reimburse you for the month you used! Whereas Verizon will! That’s definitely a plus in my book.

While Verizon thinks they can compete neck and neck with Vonage, Verizon definitely needs a dose of humbleness on their pricing or at the very least a creative marketing promotion to match the behemoth. While still thousands cheaper than landline, the rate of $24.95 is tied with Vonage for the most expensive VoIP. And yet, Verizon’s VoIP program is a recent start-up. The only promotion they offer, is available through our coupon below, and that is free activation, which is normal $20.

The price is the only reason for Verizon complaints. Verizon is stable, and has a relatively easy to cancel contract. They have great area code availability thanks to their infrastructure.
